Welcome to the BVS Website

Welcome to the Basingstoke Voluntary Services website which has been designed to help everyone within the community BVS primarily supports the voluntary and community sector which includes Charities, Community Associations, Community Groups, Faith Groups, Self-Help Groups including support for specific health conditions, User Groups or Not-for-Profit Organisations

However when we carried out an analysis of the requests for help we receive it was identified that in actual fact residents within the Borough often ask "who can help with ..."; many statutory partners ask "who should we invite to ...." or "who should we send information to about a specific subject ...."; many businesses ask "how can we promote our willingness to provide employee volunteers?"

All sections of the community contact BVS to ask about volunteering

The Orchard is a purpose built resource for the voluntary/community sector which can also be hired as a venue for meetings, training and it has a dedicated youth suite for hire

The Borough has a lot of partnerships or forums looking at how they can improve services within Basingstoke and Deane but we identified that there is no definitive list of these so BVS is comprising a list. As there are so many we have broken them down into subject headings. If you know about one that is not on the list please do let us know on 01256 423816 or email bvs@voluntaryservices.com

BVS produces a monthly Newsletter called Vol.Comm which anyone can ask to receive - if you would like a copy please ring 01256 423816 or email bvs@voluntaryservices.com

BVS is not the only organisation that provides support services so we have developed a section on the website showing other organisations that can help people within the community
